WORLD RADIO CONTROLLED CRAWLING ASSOCIATION OFFICIAL RULES 2026-2027 (Final update 01-11-2026) ‼️
While we were focused on reworking rules 1.12 and 2.6.1.7 in response to public feedback we seem to have overlooked 2.6.2.3 which also proved to be unpopular at the time of public release.
We have decided to remove the restrictions regarding venting of performance scale tires. There will no longer be a size limit or maximum allowable number of holes. The rule now reads:
(Performance Scale tires and wheels section)
• 2.6.2.4 - Original size of the tire must be maintained. Cut and shut, narrowing, reducing or increasing, of any kind, is not allowed. Tire carcass cannot be cut for any purpose other than venting
...........
Earlier modifications to the rules:
1.12: this rule has been modified to allow for a full tire to pass completely through the gate before triggering a wrong direction or out of order penalty. The wording stating “any part of the vehicle” has been removed.
Previous to this change, we felt that the 1.12 needed to be updated because it was being exploited in an unintended way from the original intention of the rule. We wrote the 2026-2027 update with the desire to eliminate this exploit but we realize now that we unintentionally made it too difficult to be used effectively.
Updated rule:
1.12 - Course Direction (10 pts): Gates must be cleared in their intended direction and sequence. If one tire passes completely through an un-cleared gate in the wrong direction or out of sequence the judge will stop time, and a 10 point reposition penalty will be given. The vehicle is then moved back by the driver to the previously cleared gate with the rear axle aligned to that gate. If the vehicle cannot be aligned to the gate due to course design, the judge will reposition the vehicle to the next stable location after the cleared gate. This location will be used for all drivers. Once progress is awarded for a specific gate, it can be passed through in any sequence or direction.
..............
2.6.1.7: The intent here remains the same but we have added an additional sentence that explicitly states that “fenders or fender flares may be trimmed, or removed, for tire clearance on the whole body”
Updated rule:
• 2.6.1.7 - Fenders and fender flares may be trimmed, or removed, for tire clearance on the whole body. Sectioning or narrowing of the body is allowed from the B-Pillar backward, but the body must still follow reference 2.6.1.3, 2.6.1.5 and 2.6.1.6.
............
Few more minor changes for clarity and consistency.
2.1.1 (General):
Clarification that exposed driveshafts, axle shafts, and motors are not considered a source of propulsion provided they are in compliance with the standard set in the rules
2.2.5, 2.3.5, 2.4.9 (Super, Pro, Mini classes):
Wording changed to read “Vehicle body or bodiless” meaning that it must meet spec with either a body or the bodiless chassis.
Having a bodiless truck with a body mounted is allowed provided that one of the 2 meets the minimum dimensions
2.6.1.2 (Performance Scale General Specs):
Clarification that, as was already stated previously on Section 6: Body, there is no possibility to add parts or components to the body to meet minimum specs.
A full body composed of one singular piece from the grille to the B-Pillar is required
2.6.1.5 (Performance Scale General Specs):
Minimum body height has been reduced to 4.25”/108mm
2.6.2.7 (Performance Scale Tires and Wheels):
Foams are no longer required to be hidden from view.
Wheel construction restrictions remain unmodified

GENERAL WRCCA COMMITTEE INFO: From the last two rounds of rules this Committee has created, the lack of interaction with YOU, the drivers is noted and from here on in we will create a two week time window for all the hobbyists to find gremlins from the updated parts of the rules to avoid this kind of scenarios what has now happened. There will be also idea pool before we dig into the new rulebook writing so everyone can share their thoughts and ideas. Still we do all of this so we can pursuit for the fun days together with this hobby in the future. Thanks for everyone involved! 👍
