FINALLY it's time to sum up the comps in this month. Kuva First we headed to German Supercrawl with an open mind and full of confidence. First let's look some pics:

Kuva
Here is the rig on course two.

Kuva
Course two as well. I was the first to make the tight turn without a reverse.

Kuva
Same course. Going for the bonus.

Kuva
Course three where my driving finally improved.

Video corner!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlFXR0A7kAY
Course 1 - I may had been over confident of my skills and waaay too condifent of the grip, cause this course did let me down bad time... Kuva On gate four at first I falled of from the rocks, but was able to climb back again. On the second try I managed to stay on the rocks, but rolled over to the gate. Then I tried to drive it up and the steering link let loose and I had to take repair. I just thought there, that is this one of these comps... Kuva When I finally got it back on the course I got stuck in small hole and took another reposition. Luckily I was able to drive it to the finishing gate. Not my course, not at all.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig50M9nhuik
Course 2 - This course went a lot better than the first. All that I'm not so happy about is the hitting the gate five. But it was tricky gate with narrow tires thought.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tOJIQIw5pY
Course 3 - This course I'm really proud of. No bigger drama there. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEr5XBVZrJ8
Course 4 - The Stubby course I would say! Kuva It was way too fun to make full throttle turns in this course. Really good one!

Kuva
The results. I'm still pissed off from that course one. Just stupid mistakes one after another. Good thing is I managed to keep my head cold on the rest of the courses and did not fall too much on the scoresheet. Timo and Stephan were better this time. Can't wait for the next time! Kuva

Kuva
Here's top three. 1.Timo 2.Stephan 3.Me

Overall I'm happy that I made the trip to Germany. Was really refreshing to see familiar faces and  good friends over the weekend. Big thanks to the organization who made an awesome comp. Kuva

Next challenge was to go for The 2014 Nordics in Finland. 20 drivers from all over the Europe attending to this comp. This was going to be a really high level comp with tight results.

Kuva
Saturday morning wasn't sunny. But it was not raining either. Kuva Let's start!

Kuva
Course one. Easy! Kuva

Kuva
"Guys you see, you have no chance, I'm the best driver in the world..."  KuvaKuva

Kuva
Course three. This was the tricky course of the day.

Kuva
Stubby making it fly! Kuva

Kuva
Gate four was too tricky for me this time. Kuva

Kuva
Fourth course was challenging but not impossible for sure. I did hit one gate on the way.

Kuva
Finals course!

Kuva
Look at the rig you dumbass!! Kuva

Kuva
I was really happy about the finals course performance. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMrjrIdJVVw
offipaita.fi course (-30/-30) - This course was a good warm up. That's all I have to say about it. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GSi5H5KPRo
Krawler Konceptz course (-30/-30) - Another warm up course? Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfLrahan2Tc
Team Ottsix course (-11/-30) - This was by far the hardest course of the day. I was the first to go and was nervous of it without a reason. I had plenty of time after gate nine, but still wasn't confident enough to clear bonus 2. I hit the gate four, since it was really tricky to get the rig in good position to hit the throttle. But other than that, I'm happy of this performance as well. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK-4ELw1b0A
Nordic Crawler Designs course (-20/-30) - It was all going really well until the gate four. I was driving too fast and the rig started to roll, and then there was nothing I could do. "Hurry up, but don't screw the lines man!" Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf-zGLShP04
RC4WD Final course (-27/-50) - I'm satisfied of how this course turned out as well. Only thing is yet again the gate four. Didn't have enough speed to climb it at the first try. I came to the finals from fifth position and managed to climb to the second position, so I'm really happy about that of course! And this was a proper final course, no shootout. Kuva

Kuva
Here are the results. Sven was way better this time. Huge congrats dude, and it was really nice to comp with you again! Kuva

Kuva
Top three. 1.Sven 2.Me 3.Manu. Kuva

Kuva
This rig has now position one from 2011 and two from 2014 in The Nordics!

I had awesome weekend with the mates from Finland, Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands, Estonia, Switzerland and Germany! Thanks to all who was able to come in the cold north! Kuva See you in the Nationals in RI!

Next comp will be our local club comp on saturday. Until then! Kuva

Again time for updates!

We had the fourth local comp of the year at Jyväskylä, Finland two weeks back. First proper summer weather of the year! Woohoo! Kuva

Kuva
This time only three drivers in the shafty class. But it was good training and fun! Kuva

Kuva
The RFOT camp of the day.

Kuva
We slept in our cars on that night. Some beer, barbeque, soccer and crawling. What could be better?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... 4AwfFWpNMQ
Course two in video. Fun course for sure. Too bad that final gate... Kuva

Kuva
I got it again. Really good comp and tons of good training.

Next time the rig is on action on saturday in the next Finnish Series comp at Kotka. Should be intresting for sure! Kuva

Saturday we had third Finnish RC Crawling Series Comp in Kotka.

Kuva
Comp quarry looked awesome, as well as the weather yet again. Lot's of grippy rocks to conquer! Kuva

Kuva
Courses were really tough. This was from the first course, which was meant to be "easy shakedown" course. Ohh well, it wasn't. Kuva

Kuva
Grip was stunning on these rocks! Kuva

Kuva
Going for the bonus gate!

Kuva
It was really tight comp this time, but I was able to pull the first position! Kuva

Kuva
Otto a.k.a wompatti drove awesome again. He was already in the finals of the Nordics with slightly old school rig, but when the driver knows what he is doing, there's no matter what are the specs of the rig. I'm really glad that there is still so much talented drivers in Finland! Maybe in the future he will be on the battlegrounds abroad as well? Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZphWzE0 ... GFl4TY7TsQ
Clip from the course five, which was the winner decider this time. Kuva

Next comp will be on 2nd of August. There's only three more comps before the Nationals. Should continue training... Kuva

Time for updates! We drove the fourth comp of Finnish RC Crawling Series on saturday. Another great day for me. Kuva

Kuva
Cool comp site and really well organized competition! It's really rare in Finland, that we can have buffet and even some crowd, since this comp site was in park at beautiful coastal town Rauma in western Finland. BIG THANKS to the organizers!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5y2QN8 ... GFl4TY7TsQ
Here is the course number one on video. Clear run for me there. Good way to start the comp! Kuva

Kuva
At the end I took the victory number four from the fourt National series comp. Kuva Good day for me. Only couple of stupid mistakes involved.

Kuva
Here are the results. With this victory I took the Finnish National Series title for the first time in Shafty class! Kuva And there's still one more comp left.

Next comp will be our team Olympics! Once in four years we drive 10 course competition to make out the best driver of our team. Should be really fun weekend. After that there's only one comp left before we leave to the Worlds! Kuva

Kuva
Part of the RFOT rigs! Kuva

Kuva
We had this awesome comp site in Rauma. Lot's of small and large rocks with excellent grip when they are dry.

Kuva
Fun times!

Kuva
Going for course building.

Kuva
Here are the results! Only one DNF for me. Really tricky end in course two and no one was able to pull it off.

Kuva
What a feeling! Kuva Really awesome comp with fun courses.

Here is a clip from course seven. There was bonus gate for each gate. Really fun one! Kuva

Next comp is Finnish National Series finals just after two weeks. That'll be the last comp ground before the Worlds! Time is coming....! Kuva

On saturday we had the final competition of Finnish RC Crawling Series in Keljonkangas, middle part of Finland. Before the comp some updates came for this rig from Oregon and Utah.

Kuva
E.Y. Designs narrowed Voodoos and Dlux CF wheels for them. Why? Because I can. Kuva
Kuva
These look really cool in my opinion.

Kuva
To front axle narrowed Voodoos and 0.87" wheels. To rear ultra narrowed Voodoos and 0.72" wheels. Kuva

Kuva
After one hour of glueing, three sets were ready. Kuva

Kuva
This is how it looks now under the rig. I have 225 SLW hubs rear and 725 SLW's on front.

Kuva
Comparation. Kuva

Kuva
It's ready for the Finnish Series finals!

Kuva
Beautiful sunrise on saturday, when we stopped for breakfast. Kuva

Kuva
All set and ready to take them Voodoos for a test.

Kuva
Seems grippy. Kuva

Kuva
Boundary climb. Kuva

Kuva
That part was steep...

Kuva
...and ridiculously slippery, but the Voodoos held their own there! Kuva

Kuva
Semi good run for me there. One gate and one reverse.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2z10nX ... GFl4TY7TsQ
Here's course number two on video. That was really tricky. I was the only one to make it. Kuva

Kuva
After the long day I was able to pull of the fifth victory on our five comp long season! KuvaKuva

Kuva
Another winner pose! I could get use to this! Kuva

Kuva
Since it was the season finale, here are the series overall results. Seems legit. Kuva

Kuva
First time for me to take the Finnish Championship in 2.2 Shafty class! Kuva

Kuva
Good season for me. The rig has been fantastic.

Kuva
Another pic to the champion list on the first message of the thread! Kuva

And now we are closing in for the big comp. 2014 World Champs in RI. Rig has been waiting for it, driver has been training all year long. It should be a blast. I hope to climb up the positions from my last year score which was 14th. Time will tell. Will be fun to see some familiar faces again. Not many days now!

Ok, I've been waiting for the pics from Worlds, but since there's still not any I will do the video corner first and serve you pics later. Kuva

I will just go with these, the order I drove them.

Futaba Course - (+22p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... iyIjRhkfq8
First course in the Worlds for me. My hands were shaking?! Kuva What is this shit? Kuva I was really nervous and didn't think too wisely in there. First 4 gates were ok, but after that a rollover and a long way to come back to gate five. I decided to ride it over since there was only some two minutes left. When I finally reached gate nine I had only 45 seconds left. I wasn't obviously thinking straight, when I tried and tried to go without the gate. Where I should've just ride it over. A little fustration was reliesed after the time runned out. ***K! Kuva At least there would not be any shaking on the rest of the courses...

Krawler Konceptz Course - (-27p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... 9kVJZtvH0U
So, after a total disaster on first course, there was no pressure on going to the next one. Good start and a tactical gate two, for saving time and saving points not trying to go between and take both of the gates. Everything went really well until the last bonusgate, which was really steep. The video doesn't do justice to that gate. I hit a gate, but it was going to be +-0 points for that anyways. Good score from this course made me little happier. Kuva

Castle Course - (-13p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... PiRe21Ag1U
This course was made by me. So I had a good feeling about it. Smooth run right until the first bonus, where I noticed that the gate had been replaced to a much steeper spot, and I just couldn't drive it up. Then panic. Kuva Where to go to gate six? Tried to climb in front of gate seven, but that ended badly as well. Then I managed to climb it up and got to gate six. In there the stomach of the car slided it on top of the gate. Kuva I thought I have to fix that one, and got myself a one bonus in there. Rest of the course went ok, but all in all I was dissapointed at this run as well... Not my day. Kuva

Ottsix Course - (+24p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... xQKQGR2kcc
I think this was the most difficult course of the whole Worlds. Only ONE finish and that was Derrick in front of me. So I was able to see how he pulled that off. I went similiar lines as him, but on the gate seven dropped off from the cliff and had to take a repo. Then I thought I just ride the gate over and go for a bonus. Could not climb that and then I just went for gate eight. Got a progress and I knew, that gate nine is going to be nearly impossible without straddle. And it was. Kuva

More analysis from the comp, when I get the pics. Hope you enjoyed the videos. Kuva

Ok, it's time for comp update. Worlds pics coming in the winter. I haven't found too many yet. Kuva

We had the second to last local team comp in Turku southern part of Finland few weeks back.

Kuva
Great attendance. Four drivers all participating in both classes. Kuva

Kuva
Here is pic from first course. The autumn seems to make this body look even better. Kuva

Kuva
Tumbling down from gate eight.

Kuva
Going for the bonus. There wasn't enough traction to do this one...

Kuva
Going for gate ten without the hard bonus. Kuva

Kuva
Few pics from the last course, where I took only one reverse. Kuva

Kuva
Oh well...

Kuva
Trust your line driver!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... GWzXFmVyeo
Here is a video from course four. It went really well apart from the drop before gate seven. Kuva

Kuva
Here are the results. I managed to get the best score from all courses so I'm happy with that. There was only one stupid gate on course two, where my rear axle got stuck in a bush and threw the front tires on gate. Shit happens sometimes. Kuva

Next comp is on saturday and it will be the local team cup finals. Should be a blast. Kuva After that only one comp left and our season is over for this year. It has been awesome for sure!

Comp update and pics from the Worlds! Kuva

Kuva
I found few photos from the Worlds! Kuva

Kuva
From course two which went really well.

Kuva
This is from the last course. Already the first gate was tricky. Kuva

Kuva
I'm pleased with the sixth spot. The only thing which was bothering me is, that I lost finals spot by one point to Yoshi. Kuva

Kuva
But all in all, we had awesome time in Rhode Island! What a great place. Kuva

Kuva
Tehn we had a final comp of RFOT's Crawl Cup on last saturday.

Kuva
Not too many pics from there either tho.... Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWvLwZ- ... GFl4TY7TsQ
Here is video from the third course, which was the best for me. It went way better than I first expected. Kuva Everything is working great. Only problem seems to be the bodymount, which is on bad place on the body. It's on the edge of the windscreen and the hood and it has gone straight thru. Now the front part of the body is sometimes leaving from it's place when I try to drive it up. Next year I'll make this problem go away. I also had to change the drive shaft from the rear. The MIP was worn out, so I tried S.D.I one. It held the whole comp without problems. And it's way lighter, than the MIP. So I'll keep it in there. Kuva

Kuva
From this comp as well. First spot. Kuva

Kuva
And on the series six wins of six comps. Car performes - driver does it as well at some comps. Kuva

One more comp to go on this season. It'll be the one we call Fence Puzzle in southwestern part of Finland. It's scheduled on saturday. Should be a blast as always. Kuva

Time for some updates after the last comp of the season 2014.

Kuva
The last comp was held in Säkylä, western part of Finland.

Kuva
We had good amount of entries even thought the weather was quite chilly. Kuva

Kuva
Course one on the way!

Kuva
Rig has worked like a charm all year. Feeling confident. Kuva

Kuva
Mistakes already on gate two. 30 points in there. Two repos and a gate. KuvaKuvaKuva

Kuva
And this is the gate, that had me. Gate four. Dropped of from the rocks and DNF. Kuva Luckily the next course went way better! Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... oMoHGLkZCs
Course two on video! Five reverses and two bonuses. Kuva One of the best runs all year for this rig!

Kuva
And on course three I was the only one to make it on the finish line. This comp was being added to the list of victories! Kuva

This rig has been amazing this year. In Finland it won all comps except The Nordics. I've had a really good touch to drive it, but there is still some parts of it, that I want to improve.

Spanish Champion 2014
Finnish Champion 2014
RFOT Club Champion 2014
2nd in Nordics 2014
3rd in Supercrawl 2014
6th in Worlds 2014

I want to say BIG thanks to all of my sponsors, who helped me during the season:

Nordic Crawler Designs
RC4WD
Team Brood Racing
EuroRC
offipaita.fi

and of course yet again, big thanks to Krawler Konceptz for the skins! Kuva

We will have the first comp of the year on january, so it's time to start preparing for it.

Kuva

Kuva
New front axle, with all the latest upgrades; RC Bros brass burly tubes (to add weight on the front), Axial HD gears, universals and plastic axle housings, VP Wraith knuckles, c-hubs and hexes, Fast Eddy bearings and Super Shafty chromoly spool. KuvaKuva

Axle assembled. I also bought some CF axle stuff from a local manufactor. We'll see how this all will end up in the rig. These parts would give me the opportunity to lower the stuff on top of the axle. Mainly servo and battery. Kuva

It's just planning and doing now. We'll see what else I have planned as I get them here. Kuva

Onpa siistin näköstä menoa! Koska seuraavaa kisaa Säkylässä? Joku kauden korkkaava kevätkisa?

My plans are changing faster than I thought... Kuva

It's time to end this rig's career. I have started working on with a new rig and some of this rig will be moving on to my sister's shafty. I'll put a topic up of it soon. This is one of my favorite rig's of all time, but it's refreshing to build something new every once in a while. I think, I'll remember this thing from these:

2011 Nordic Champion
2014 Spanish Champion
2014 Finnish Champion

The "spirit" of this rig will move on. The destiny is calling. Kuva
