It's time for my sister to step up to the pro class alongside with 2.2's. We got good deal from Hittman and got his old CCC Mutt. Thanks to him!


Rig came down to cold Finland today. Good packing there Christian!


Someone has been waiting for it!


What do we have here?


Some CCC magic is already noticed!


Here   are the stuff that we got from Hittman. It's a really good platform to   start building the dream car. All except the electronics.


All of the stuff are in great shape.


Rear axle ready to be attached back to the Mutt.


Front axle is as well. I might go for a little less caster, but that's about all I will change.


These   are one of the tires that will be used under this rig. The other ones   are LaaLaa Skinny Rovers and E.Y Design narrow voodoos.


Skins have already been designed by Michelle from Krawler Konceptz! How orsome are these?!

Now   we have the whole autumn to build this thing, and may start competing   with it next year. To the electronics, I've made a decision to go for   Holmes Hobbies this time. More will come, when the rig is taking it's   shape.

Upeeta päästä ajamaan viimein sitä kuninkaiden luokkaa. Ilman Samun ehdotusta en tuskin olisi vielä aloittanut ajamista, mutta mitä sitä turhaan odottaa?

Viimeviikonloppuna sain ekaa kertaa kokeilla pro autolla ajamista. Ajaminen kyllä yllätti odotukseni. Olen aina pitänyt pro luokkaa ns. " mahdottomuutena" Mutta sitä se ei ollut. Harjoittelua se tottakai vaatii, mutta pikkuhiljaa hyvä tulee. Vaikka auto onkin vielä kokoamispisteessä niin eiköhän siitäkin hyvä tule, tai siltä se ainakin vaikuttaa. Odotan innolla, että pääsen kokoamaan autoa ja harjoittelemaan. Suurimmaksi osaksi tämänkin luokan ajot taitavat jäädä ensi vuoden puolelle. Ensi vuonna sitten täysillä taas kilpailemaan!

P.s. Huom! Paneelien on tarkoitus häiritä   muita kuskeja, kun kerran näin miesvaltaisessa lajissa ollaan.   ;)

Work continues... Sofi assembled the rig together:

While we have been waiting for the other electronics to come in stock again, Sofi has been training with my pro and building the things she can for now.


First competition with pro rig. Still unfamiliar with two ESC's, but the driving seems to be there. Just requires lot of training as in with any other driver.


So, time to start skinning Smurfette!


As it turned out, the Mutt wasn't in original wideness, when it left from NM. Time to make it wider. Sofi didn't want to cut the skins, which is highly acceptable in this case.

Few still to attach. Turned out to be a really tricky job to find parts to make this wider.

Time for update.

After I heard, that the next batch of ESC's will take time to arrive from Holmes Hobbies, I decided to tare apart my own electronics from the bully. This way Sofi could have her first comp in this year. So, it was time for preparations.


Old trusted servo from my ex-mini crawler. Futaba BLS157HV.


I also bent the roof panel and now it looks really mean!


Stubbies, micro sidewinders and CC Bec ready to jump on XR-10.

And it steers! I also gave my E.Y. Designs narrowed Voodoos to Sofi's rig. Dlux wheels and those tires are perfect match for the rig.

Overall RTR weight is impressive as well!

Electronics are on the place. Even the battery is perfect match for the colours of this thing!


Mutt gives you a decent amount of ground clearance as well.


I have to say, that Michelle did amazing job with the skins. Again!

Then it was time for the comp. The last one in our season 2014. Fence Puzzle!


Sofi did not have a clue, that her rig would be in action already there. It was great to see her face, when she saw the finished product. Priceless.

Rig was working flawless through the comp. Nothing broke and Sofi did few amazing performances!


There was only one thing, which I found out that needs changing. That's the caster angle. In my opinion it had way too much positive caster. But that's about all, that I would change of it so far.

Here video from the second course, where Sofi only took two reverses! She decided not to go for the bonuses, but just go on the finish line. Wise descision.


Here are the results! Third position with a brand new rig. That's the spirit!

After the comp, I went to garage to "fix" the only problem it had with the caster angle.


One step back.


It still steers pretty well.


I think this is going to improve the steering quite a bit at least in Finland.


Now we'll just have to test it, when we have a suitable weather to do that. It's getting colder here day by day. Next comp will be on January and the tuning will start from there. At least it's good, that Sofi has now driven a few gates with this before the new season.

We'll continue on working.

So, first comp behind. I have to say that I was completely surprised when Samu brought my car with his electronics on it. It was a really nice surprise so thanks bro! Driving with smurfette was kind of easy thanks to my chassis CCC Mutt which is by the way brilliant! It is hard to describe how good it feels to drive with that car. I think that word smooth could gave you the best description. Everything works amazingly! Still it is hard to use all the buttons which I have never used because I've been driving shafty class. So my driving is kind of slow. My first comp went well. Still, I've got pretty good drivers to challenge me but I think that is a good thing! It's good to have some challenge Smurfette rocks! Still, looking forward to the next season! My brother is spending a lot time with that car but I think he has to step aside because I want to repair my rig all by myself, of course ;)   So, now it's time for training for the next season.

Later, when the new version of HH BR-Minies arrive, Sofi will change to those. For now we are going with Micro Sidewinders.

Finally got myself back to the garage and doin some work.


After checking out all screws and bearings in the axles and chassis, the electric works needed to be started.


"Koppensneller's" old electronics will head down into this rig. I gotta clean those wires a bit.


And of course the brand new Holmes 400 Pullers.


CF motor guards are also waiting for assembling.

Daaarn, this rig is just blue'ish symphony!


Everything looked excellent in the axle as well.


Front axle in the place now as well.


Also added a Rowdy Racing electric mount for ECS's and BEC.


Everything went on flawlessy!


I removed the cases of Sanwa receiver and put the BEC into a same cute package with ESC's.


Final stretch still to go! Have to clean up the wires before installing the whole thing in the rig. Slooooooowly, but steadily!

Time to make them wires longer and clean them up.

This build has been a really easy with no drama. Simply enjoyable tuning.

Ready for testing!


Didn't smell any smoke in the test, but also realized that the TX is not in the setup. Gonna do the testdrive later then.


I think I got them there quite nicely.


ESC's and BEC are now on the Rowdy Racing electronic mount and RX is in the chassis.


Suspension in normal driving situation.


Front dig on. Suspension all the way down. The ESC package isn't touching the hood. I made it!!


Gotta say I'm proud of my work today. Only testing to do before the first comp!
