Nöyrimmät kiitokset! :)

Hurjan näköistä touhua kun tuuli heittelee ja vaahtoava meri velloo suoraan alapuolella :) Kiva katsella tälläistä huippusuoritusta. Scaleharrastajana pakko kehua myös auton ulkonäköä, eli lyhyesti: näyttää todella hyvältä!
Onnea voittajalle! 8)

Kiitokset!
Kyllähän toi tuuli tosiaan aikamoinen oli välillä. Kevyemmät autot alkoi jo lauantaina olla ongelmissa. Olen myös itse tosi tyytyväinen ulkonäköön. Haluan panostaa siihen melkein yhtä paljon kuin suorituskykyyn. ;)
Finally I'm able to write up and sum the last weekend in Norway.

On friday morning we all walked in the heaven on earth as for rock crawlers. Verdens Ende in Norway.

Course one on the way!

Drove only one battery of training in the comp place. Instantly the rig felt like it does belong to there.

The grip was something else.

Little bit of excitement for the perfomance. Two meters away from a straight vertical cliff of approximately 15m drop straight to the ocean.

I won't do a roll over!!

Course two here.

In Norway there is quite big difference of the course design compared to US. They are not there to do rock racing. They are there to do rock crawling. So seven minutes and ten really tricky gates. No bonuses. I kind of like this way!

First course was perfect for me. On this course two I hit two gate markers...

This was one of them. The only gate in the whole weekend, that nobody was able to make.

Managed to get myself to semi finals.

Eight best drivers were going to semi finals where the points would start from zero again.

From the semi finals three best would continue on the big final with the points from the semi's.

Here I took one tactical reverse to not make life any harder than it already is.

And that was it. One reverse in the semifinals.

Builted a decent lead after semi finals and I was able to go to final course breathing.

Final course was a really tough one.

I didn't manage to see the right line thru this gate. JENS from Norway made it without any bigger issues.

Then to a really steep sideways gate.

And even steeper route to the tenth gate.
Video corner time!!
Course 1 - (-20/-20)

Course one. Just getting to know the grip at this point. Many hazarduos gates, but luckily this time I made it without mistakes. Gate nine was really tricky. Two times I managed to get the car on it's tires in that spot. Elements of danger were just two meters away though.

Really good course this.
Course 2 - (0/-20)

Second course was one of the hardest on friday. At third gate my reactions were wrong coming down the cliff and I hit the throttle, where I just should've let it roll thrugh the gate. First mistake of the day. Couple of tricky gates and then off to gate seven, which was actually the only gate in the whole competition (including all the classes) that nobody was able to clear without gate.

Rest of the course went well and I was able to come up with zero points from there.
Course 3 - (-5/-20)

This was truely the worst course by far in sporty class for me. Frist three gates went well, no problem there. Then I wanted to do a different approach to gate four and try to save one reverse. That didn't go as planned. Got stuck quite badly and was able to roll the car near the gate. I change one reverse to two.

Then on the gate eight there was one simple task to do. Reverse thru gate eight and drive up gate nine. My reversing wasn't too smooth in that spot and I hit a gate and got three reverses to made it out. I couldn't reverse it straight down, because there was a boundary underneeth. Well, now that the "black course" was done, I could now go to the next one without a preassure.
Course 4 - (-20/-20)

Course four was for me at least one of the easiest courses of the day. Gate three and ten were the only relatively difficult spots for most of the drivers. For me the gate three was easy cause I didn't have the AX10 diff in the middle of the axle.

Perfect score from here.
Course 5 (-18/-20)

Course five reclaimed a lot of drivers on friday. Many DNF's and broken rigs on this course. Before me there was only one score at negative points. I saw this as a proper challenge and drove it with only two reverses. At first there was this shelf, which was suprisingly slippery on top. I made it clean and took my first reverse at gate six. That was needed to go through it. Second reverse came from approacing gate nine to gate ten. Completely my own mistake to cut it too much. Really fun and challenging course this.
Course 6 (-15/-20)

At this point of the day you can really start to see, that the 100% consertration, that I had in the morning is gone. It's really hard to keep that level up the whole day. Before the second gate I tried to get best possible line to there, but I overdid it badly. So again I switched one reverse to two reverses. Next problem was on gate five. I took the shortcut, but had not think thru the approaching line to the gate. Two more reverses... Luckily the rest of the course went flawlessy and I was able to score -15 points. So after the qualification courses I was in the lead with negative 78 points.
Semi Final Course (-19/-20)

Then it was time to start the competition at full steam! I planned my route through the course carefully before going. My plan was to take one reverse to gate eight and not to take dumb risks at this point of the finals. Everything went as planned, maybe even little bit faster than I expected. The other drivers were in trouble in this course and I managed to get over 40 point lead, when we left to the final course with top three.
Final Course (-7/-20)

In this course the norwegian course makers really did their tricks to make the life of top three as hard as possible.

Already at the second gate I rolled the rig over, but managed to get it on it's wheels in such a small area.

Gate four was another one of those gates, where I just couldn't see the line. Tried it three times and then rode it over to save time. Jens Petter from Norway saw the line and made it look easy.

Gate six was a tricky downhill and I rolled the rig once more. Luckily didn't touch the gate and was able to escape with only one reverse. Gate nine was very tricky sidehill gate with a bounday beneath of it. First time my rig started to rolling I hit the reverse and managed to escape without a boundary touch. Second time I just floored the throttle and was able to jump throught the gate. Last gate was on top of a really steep climb where I had some trouble to find the line. After a bit bouncy start I made it. Really good final course it was, so hats of to Svea from Norway who did it!
Ps. sorry for the salty lens of the camera. It was practicly raining salty water from the ocean due the wind and the waves.

After a tough finals and weekend the top three was announced.

Here are the results. Top three has points from semi finals and finals. 4-8 has points from semi finals and 9-20 has their points from the qualification.

I'm really satisfied overall the performance of this rig. It was just as I expected on terrain as grippy as that was; mind blowing!

Overall my trip to Norway was really good. Not only the performances, but mostly the company, weather and the trip. Best Nordics so far without any questions! Thanks to the norwegian organization!
