Time for a pre comp update.

Kuva
I've done some training since the last comp. Rig keeps amazing me with the performance.

Kuva
Haven't change a thing with it so far. Hopefully good perfoming continues tomorrow in finnish series opener.

Kuva
Rig is well up for the win. It all lays down to the driver again. Kuva Ten registered drivers on the line. Gonna be interesting day. As always pics and vids will follow. Kuva

Kuva
Tricky transition from first to second gate.

Kuva
Fast fast, bonus bonus!! Kuva

Kuva
Really challenging course this.

Kuva
Going for the difficult bonus three.

Kuva
Straight up from the first try. Gotta love this rig. Kuva

Kuva
Finished! With the best course by a mile.

Here is course one in video. The only full house -50 point performance in shafty class. Really proud of this one. Kuva

Kuva
It's beginning to produce a gap. Kuva

Really good comp for me last saturday. No bigger mistakes and everything still works as it should. Next comp is tomorrow and it is the final frontier before the Nordics. Kuva

Kuva
Kai-modosu fixed for tomorrows comp.

Kuva
Eleven shafty rigs competing for glory tomorrow. Nordics are just two weeks away now and this is the final "practice" before it. Fingers crossed! Kuva

Time to see what did happen on saturdays comp.

Kuva
Before course two. Shafty participants! Kuva

Kuva
Course one went really well. I managed to get a decent lead in there and could continue without preassure on course two.

Kuva
On gate two. First try didn't go as planned...

Kuva
Second try. Kuva

Kuva
In this comp, I didn't have any issues with the rig. It has been working stunningly well all season.

Kuva
Going for the bonus gate. Kuva

Kuva
This was relatively easy course compared to the other three.

Kuva
Before gate ten another bonus.

Kuva
My face after perfect -50 point score. Kuva

https://youtu.be/Mz0DDZ3ubgI
Course four on video. This went well apart from one bonus which I didn't even try. It seemed impossible. And it was. Kuva

Kuva
Another first position and a really good day with Kai-modosu! Kuva

Kuva
Really happy with that score. Only one dumb gate on course three.

Now it's time to prepare the rig for Nordics, which will be held after one week in Norway. A small update before our departure coming next week. Kuva

All set for the Nordics 2015!

Kuva
Nothing changed of the previous setup.

Next week we'll make the trip to Norway and drive Nordics 2015 there. I think my preparation has been good with this rig and I hope I can bring my driving form as it is to there. 18 best drivers from northern europe are competing there. My goal is to fight for the trophy. Kuva Let's hope that everything holds in this fierce battle!

Kyllähän toi tuuli tosiaan aikamoinen oli välillä. Kevyemmät autot alkoi jo lauantaina olla ongelmissa. Olen myös itse tosi tyytyväinen ulkonäköön. Haluan panostaa siihen melkein yhtä paljon kuin suorituskykyyn.  ;)

Finally I'm able to write up and sum the last weekend in Norway.

Kuva
On friday morning we all walked in the heaven on earth as for rock crawlers. Verdens Ende in Norway. Kuva

Kuva
Course one on the way!

Kuva
Drove only one battery of training in the comp place. Instantly the rig felt like it does belong to there. Kuva

Kuva
The grip was something else. Kuva

Kuva
Little bit of excitement for the perfomance. Two meters away from a straight vertical cliff of approximately 15m drop straight to the ocean. Kuva I won't do a roll over!! Kuva

Kuva
Course two here.

Kuva
In Norway there is quite big difference of the course design compared to US. They are not there to do rock racing. They are there to do rock crawling. So seven minutes and ten really tricky gates. No bonuses. I kind of like this way! Kuva

Kuva
First course was perfect for me. On this course two I hit two gate markers...

Kuva
This was one of them. The only gate in the whole weekend, that nobody was able to make. Kuva

Kuva
Managed to get myself to semi finals.

Kuva
Eight best drivers were going to semi finals where the points would start from zero again.

Kuva
From the semi finals three best would continue on the big final with the points from the semi's. Kuva

Kuva
Here I took one tactical reverse to not make life any harder than it already is. Kuva

Kuva
And that was it. One reverse in the semifinals. Kuva

Kuva
Builted a decent lead after semi finals and I was able to go to final course breathing. Kuva

Kuva
Final course was a really tough one.

Kuva
I didn't manage to see the right line thru this gate. JENS from Norway made it without any bigger issues.

Kuva
Then to a really steep sideways gate.

Kuva
And even steeper route to the tenth gate. Kuva

Video corner time!! Kuva

Course 1 - (-20/-20)
https://youtu.be/WD51S4xIUMg
Course one. Just getting to know the grip at this point. Many hazarduos gates, but luckily this time I made it without mistakes. Gate nine was really tricky. Two times I managed to get the car on it's tires in that spot. Elements of danger were just two meters away though. Kuva Really good course this. Kuva

Course 2 - (0/-20)
https://youtu.be/WhwFWtXxdIY
Second course was one of the hardest on friday. At third gate my reactions were wrong coming down the cliff and I hit the throttle, where I just should've let it roll thrugh the gate. First mistake of the day. Couple of tricky gates and then off to gate seven, which was actually the only gate in the whole competition (including all the classes) that nobody was able to clear without gate. Kuva Rest of the course went well and I was able to come up with zero points from there.

Course 3 - (-5/-20)
https://youtu.be/tG79oV_El1E
This was truely the worst course by far in sporty class for me. Frist three gates went well, no problem there. Then I wanted to do a different approach to gate four and try to save one reverse. That didn't go as planned. Got stuck quite badly and was able to roll the car near the gate. I change one reverse to two. KuvaThen on the gate eight there was one simple task to do. Reverse thru gate eight and drive up gate nine. My reversing wasn't too smooth in that spot and I hit a gate and got three reverses to made it out. I couldn't reverse it straight down, because there was a boundary underneeth. Well, now that the "black course" was done, I could now go to the next one without a preassure. Kuva

Course 4 - (-20/-20)
https://youtu.be/PyuJPbc6PL0
Course four was for me at least one of the easiest courses of the day. Gate three and ten were the only relatively difficult spots for most of the drivers. For me the gate three was easy cause I didn't have the AX10 diff in the middle of the axle. Kuva Perfect score from here.

Course 5 (-18/-20)
https://youtu.be/3U5fvz3kxqY
Course five reclaimed a lot of drivers on friday. Many DNF's and broken rigs on this course. Before me there was only one score at negative points. I saw this as a proper challenge and drove it with only two reverses. At first there was this shelf, which was suprisingly slippery on top. I made it clean and took my first reverse at gate six. That was needed to go through it. Second reverse came from approacing gate nine to gate ten. Completely my own mistake to cut it too much. Really fun and challenging course this. Kuva

Course 6 (-15/-20)
https://youtu.be/63TP4CyH3AQ
At this point of the day you can really start to see, that the 100% consertration, that I had in the morning is gone. It's really hard to keep that level up the whole day. Before the second gate I tried to get best possible line to there, but I overdid it badly. So again I switched one reverse to two reverses. Next problem was on gate five. I took the shortcut, but had not think thru the approaching line to the gate. Two more reverses... Luckily the rest of the course went flawlessy and I was able to score -15 points. So after the qualification courses I was in the lead with negative 78 points. Kuva

Semi Final Course (-19/-20)
https://youtu.be/wljChFvixjA
Then it was time to start the competition at full steam! I planned my route through the course carefully before going. My plan was to take one reverse to gate eight and not to take dumb risks at this point of the finals. Everything went as planned, maybe even little bit faster than I expected. The other drivers were in trouble in this course and I managed to get over 40 point lead, when we left to the final course with top three. Kuva

Final Course (-7/-20)
https://youtu.be/LBR_RsXTYFM
In this course the norwegian course makers really did their tricks to make the life of top three as hard as possible. Kuva Already at the second gate I rolled the rig over, but managed to get it on it's wheels in such a small area. Kuva Gate four was another one of those gates, where I just couldn't see the line. Tried it three times and then rode it over to save time. Jens Petter from Norway saw the line and made it look easy. Kuva Gate six was a tricky downhill and I rolled the rig once more. Luckily didn't touch the gate and was able to escape with only one reverse. Gate nine was very tricky sidehill gate with a bounday beneath of it. First time my rig started to rolling I hit the reverse and managed to escape without a boundary touch. Second time I just floored the throttle and was able to jump throught the gate. Last gate was on top of a really steep climb where I had some trouble to find the line. After a bit bouncy start I made it. Really good final course it was, so hats of to Svea from Norway who did it! Kuva

Ps. sorry for the salty lens of the camera. It was practicly raining salty water from the ocean due the wind and the waves. Kuva

Kuva
After a tough finals and weekend the top three was announced. Kuva

Kuva
Here are the results. Top three has points from semi finals and finals. 4-8 has points from semi finals and 9-20 has their points from the qualification.

Kuva
I'm really satisfied overall the performance of this rig. It was just as I expected on terrain as grippy as that was; mind blowing! Kuva

Kuva
Overall my trip to Norway was really good. Not only the performances, but mostly the company, weather and the trip. Best Nordics so far without any questions! Thanks to the norwegian organization!

Time to make this thing moving again for the next comp!

Kuva
A little accident happened on the last day of the Nordics at the night. Kuva Hopefully it's glue able...

Kuva
Otherwise there's nothing much to do about the rig. Just tighten the screws and bolts.

Kuva
Job done. Seems like it's gonna hold. We'll see.

Kuva
Now with one big victory under it's belt, it's time to continue the practise. Kuva

Kuva
The Tradition competition in the middle part of Finland. Next friday! Kuva Can't wait to get on the course again, even though there hasn't been too many drivers signing up to the comp. Kuva

Another comp behind with pleasing results.

Kuva
On the way to comp site, there was this traditional finnish summer scene. Beautiful indeed. Kuva

Kuva
We made a camp and stayed for the night in the comp site.

Kuva
Course two here.

Kuva
Boundary maze. Kuva

Kuva
Perfect score so far.

Kuva
Climbing steep and slippery bonus.

Kuva
Going for the third bonus! Kuva

Kuva
And it's on it's roof again. The fixed tire broke down again during the struggle to get it up... Kuva

Kuva
Managed to continue anyhow. Tried the bonus from up.

Kuva
Finnish midnight! Kuva

Kuva
Some bbq after the comp! Kuva

https://youtu.be/wJYtpgzjBAM
Here is the first course on video. This was a good run, since there was some tricky gates. Only missed the last bonus, cause of too big risk of falling down and losing a lot of points.

Kuva
After four courses Kai-modosu is continuing the winning streak! Kuva

Kuva
Pretty pleased of the difference as well!

Next comps will be on next saturday and sunday. Gotta fix the tire again! Kuva

Done some preparations for tomorrows competition.

Kuva
Had to glue the tire once more. Setup is working, so I won't be touching on it.

Kuva
First we will drive the second competition of Finnish RC Crawling Series in southern part of Finland, Kirkkonummi. And on sunday we will continue with RFOT's Crawl Cup on the same spot where the 2014 Nordics were held. The weather forecast looks very promising and it's already hot in here! Kuva

I'll try to continue the good work with this thing. Kuva

Ok, two more comps behind with this rig!

Kuva
First off the second round of Finnish National Series. Awesome weather and new comp site in southern part of Finland, Kirkkonummi.

Kuva
Course one went well, I was one of the two guys to finish the course. Here is the rig on the startbox of course two.

Kuva
Got the wrong approaching line to this gate and hit the lower gate. Kuva

Kuva
Going for the fourth gate.

Kuva
Not an easy course this. Not at all.

Kuva
Gate six here.

Kuva
Voodoo tire being just enough tall not to drop between those rocks. Kuva

Kuva
Difficult gate seven.

Kuva
Gate nine with really difficult approach.

Kuva
Just cleared it both sides.

Kuva
Then off to bonus gate. First try didn't go too well.

Kuva
Second try was a success.

Kuva
Another bonus gate, which I never made...

Kuva
I would like to give big thanks to MP Taito for loaning the fabulous trial bike park for us. Amazing spot! Kuva

https://youtu.be/IW5MJLSI3EE
Here we have the last course on video. This was really different type of course, that what I'm used to drive. Kuva Fun course after all, with all the bridges and stuff.

Kuva
And yes. I took another victory. After building this rig, I don't even know what second is anymore. Kuva

Kuva
Here are the results. No questions needed there. Kuva

After this comp on last saturday we went to a hotel and continued comping in Inkoo next day.

This comp is the seventh round of RFOT's Crawl Cup 2015. The season is passed it's first half.

Kuva
Morning again! Let's go to do some crawling! KuvaKuva

Kuva
And what a weather we got!! Kuva

Kuva
Four drivers in the line this time. Others are missing a great comp for sure.

Kuva
First course.

Kuva
This spot still offers some good lines.

Kuva
Bonus time!

Kuva
Everything is going as planned. Rig has been epic for the whole season.

Kuva
Another bonus on the way to gate six.

Kuva
Third bonus. Kuva This was already a bit trickier.

Kuva
Two courses down. Two to go. The weather is best that finnish summer can throw at us. Kuva

Kuva
Course number three. Some boundaries on this course.

Kuva
And bonus for a change! Kuva

Kuva
Sharp edges on these rocks. Allthough the grip was best that I've come around in Finland.

Kuva
Tight gate four.

Kuva
Still loving the looks of this thing. Haven't got bored of it! Kuva

Kuva
Some sidehilling before the finish.

Kuva
Gate ten. Another good course behind!

https://youtu.be/_9PohZX4wpE
Here is the second course. First bonus of this course was a pain in the ass to get to and get out of. Otherwise it did go really well. Kuva

Kuva
Another first! Kuva Sorry for the blur pic.

Kuva
The results. Didn't got time to drive the third bonus on the last course. Other than that, it was epic day for driving.

Good weekend for this rig. Again. Basic screw tightening and charghing the batteries for the next comp on next weekend. It'll be the third round of Finnish National Series. Pre comp update coming before that! Kuva

Kuva
Nothing really to do for it. Just tightened all the screws and bolts. It's been working without bigger incidents for the whole year. Staggered to see it being so reliable. Kuva

Kuva

Another Finnish Series comp behind with a pleasing results. Kuva

Kuva
It was basically my home comp and we had choose the best available location for it. Kuva

Kuva
Course number two starting.

Kuva
Going for a big downhill, which had a gate half way down. Kuva

Kuva
My line happened to be spot on! Kuva

Kuva
Some easier gates then.

Kuva
Then to the only bonus of the course.

Kuva
Which turned out to be really tricky! Kuva

Kuva
Was able to make it with two reverses and then continued to the finish line.

https://youtu.be/edWHnBVJLAg
Here is the same course two on video. Quite happy about this performance. Kuva

Kuva
And here are the results. All of the courses went really well and I'm satified with that result.

Next comp will be after three weeks. Another Finnish Series comp, where I can make sure the address of the championship title. Kuva

One more comp done with this japanese beast. Kuva

Kuva
A tough terrain to have a comp. Lots of grip though. Kuva

Kuva
Starting course number two.

Kuva
From the first drive it really felt as if the terrain is made for this rig. Kuva

Kuva
This rig has also been ridiculously reliable this year. I've broken just one shaft in the whole year. Kuva

Kuva
That's just something you don't get in every car. At least from a one which has been build from the scratch by yourself...

Kuva
And now I heard a rumour, that this rig might have a chance to meet it's arch enemies in Spain. Takuya and Manu. Kuva

Kuva
I had a fantastic day driving the shafty. 11 penalties in total and all gates progressed. Rare days. Kuva

Kuva
It's all joy! Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgFVQLD72R4
Here is the most difficult course of the day. Only two guys made it to the finish. Kuva

Kuva
Eleventh victory. I will soon brake my own records. Kuva

Kuva
With this victory I made sure that the finnish champion will be Kai-modosu! Kuva

Next comp is just behind the corner and now it's time to go and prepare for it!

Another great comp done last weekend.

Kuva
The most beautiful comp place there is in Finland at the moment. Kuva

Kuva
Got a really good score on the first course.

Kuva
Here it is on the second one.

Kuva
Still making all of them gates look like childs play. Kuva

Kuva
Figuring out a different line thrugh gate eight.

Kuva
Slightly bigger drop, but it was completely do able.

Kuva
Got a couple of dumb gates in the comp, but the driving was mainly good.

Kuva
It's just so ultimate rig at the moment, it let's the driver do small mistakes and still be on the high pos. Kuva

Kuva
Got a good practise with all of my rigs.

Kuva
After the comp straight to summer cottage for some relaxation in awesome weather. This is finnish summer at it's best. Kuva

Course two on video here. Happy about this result! Kuva

Kuva
Twelve comps. Twelve victories.

Kuva
Points could have been better.

Next time this rig will be on the rocks next saturday. Then it's turn for the last comp of Finnish National Series 2015. Let's see if I can pull out 5/5 for the second time in row. Kuva

Ready for another comp.

Kuva
Fewer and fewer comps before the EuroCrawl. Gotta make most of it. Four comps before the big one. Last of the Finnish National Series on saturday. Aiming for 5/5! Kuva

Unfortunately I have no pics of this competition. Kuva Partly cause of the rain and partly cause of the lack of time. Oh well. Here is video from the toughest course of the day. Two guys were able to finish it. Really slippery! Kuva

Kuva
All went pretty well again with Kai-modosu. 13th victory in row. Kuva

Kuva
With almost a hundred point marginal to the second. Kuva

Kuva
And with 5/5 victories in the season this trophy was mine! Yeeeeehaaw! Kuva

Kuva
Can't go any better than that!

Kuva
I'm extremely pleased with current pace that this rig is delivering the trophies. Too bad this won't last any more than four comps. Three local comps left and EuroCrawl. Hopefully the pace will continue! Kuva

Kuva
This is all I got from the party at the night. Kuva

On saturday we will be comping almost in the border of Russia. So east it is! Tomorrow I'll have to preapare the rig for that trip. Kuva

Leaving for the next comp in few hours.

Kuva
Shafty is ready to beat some records. Right now I could be driving in Nevada, but what can you do... Kuva

Kuva
Comp will be held in the eastern border of Finland. Lappeenranta. Looking forward to see this spot! Kuva My goal is yet again obvious. Kuva
