So, finally updating the thread after the Supercrawl and Nordics. I'm really sorry that it has taken so long. Just working my ass off right now to earn the holidays in september. Kuva

I'm extremely happy that I made the trip to German Supercrawl. It was cool to see friends from europe after one year. Kuva

Let's start with the video corner:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... TzTewzz5A8
Course 1 - I'm happy with the starting course of the day. Two reverses on this relatively easy course. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... L6I_Frywr8
Course 2 - This was far from "easy" course. Start was tight and I almost hit the gate 2 two times. Kuva Then I took a tactical gate on four, but the climb to gate five took ages... When I finally got up from gate five, everything went smooth to the end. A little hurry, but there was no problems, I had one second left. Kuva As far as I know I was the only one to clear this course.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... DQapz_abAc
Course 3 - The toughest course of the comp. Nobody made it. Kuva Time was set to eight minutes, but still I runned out. My battery was empty when I tried to climb really very "grippy" gate nine. So that was it. Up to there I'm happy on the performance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... F3eXptX1vI
Course 4 - In this course there was some illegal gates. They were too tight IMHO. I'm not really happy about this course either. Didn't have time or the points to finish it. Could've gone better than that. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... 7EKwwIhugs
Course 5 - This was too quite hard to drive. Gate three was simply way too hard with narrow tires. So I rode it over. Gate nine was too dirty for me to pass without a gate. But at least I made it! Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... EQZkTCusWw
Course 6 - After lunch break the drivers wanted easier courses, than in the morning. These were luckily a lot easier. Clean run with excellent cheering by Amok! Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... vS754zDxtI
Course 7 - Another clean run for this day. I really liked this one! Kuva

Course 8 - I don't have video of it. This course was again harder and I took three gates and some reverses. Two of the gates were by mistake, and I was furious to myself after this course. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... JsWb6DPKl0
Course 9 - Sunday's first course. Quite easy one. I took one gate on gate seven. The rear end just slided onto it. Other than that, this course went really well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... C9EIaSiDrU
Course 10 - In this course I realized that my front shafts had worn out, and I had to limit the steering so it wont jam when I turn. Too bad... Because of that I had to do couple of extra reverses.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... GesGy50AnE
Final course - I was the first one to drive the shootout finals course. I had one gate, five if I remember right. It just didn't turn between the markers and I decided to save time and run it over. Few reverses and to finish line, and I was happy about the performance. Then I just had to wait and see, what the other guys can do. The french guys drove awesome and we had only few points of difference on the podium! Excellent finals course! Kuva

Kuva
Points before the finals! I was amazed to see the difference! Kuva But it didn't matter cause the points would start from zero again.

Kuva
Starting the finals!

Kuva
Tricky gate, where everybody got stuck like that, before the rig jumped to the right and got up. Kuva

Kuva

Kuva
1.Me 2.David 3.Pat. Really high level comp this year as well in Germany!

Kuva
Rig feels awesome to drive. Only thing I will change at some point is that I need wider front tires. Kuva

Kuva
Time for the Nordics!! Kuva

In rust we trust! Kuva

Kuva
Finals course gate two. Kuva

Kuva
Finnish summer. You never know what to expect. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... 6KDf9gc4nU
Offipaita.fi Course - First course on familiar ground! Course went well until I hit the gate four. Stupid lines to it one after another. There I did loose ten points already. And it's a lot in a comp leveled as high as this...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... 3hul4dLefM
Krawler Konceptz Course - From this course my driving improved rapidly. Clean run tasted good! Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... kWXsVVQ2_c
Team Ottsix Course - I was nervous because of this course. It looked much harder than it really was. All in all, good run. Only gate I rode over was the gate four, where wise man would've made one reverse and drove through. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... jsiG76GYEA
Nordic Crawler Designs Course - In this course my only goal was to make in clean. Driving was confident enough, and I was able to drive it without mistakes. I had a quite good qualification, and was about to start the finals on second position eleven points behind the leader. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... gOGut_ojv4
RC4WD Finals course - Really tough one for sure! Gates looked almost impossible on the preview, but I decided that my only goal is to finish it. Start was slow but steady. I hit the gate four. Then drove five and six and on the way to riding over gate seven I did hit the gate three, so I didn't have too many points left or time for that matter. But I made it and passed the leader by only few points! KuvaKuva I was amazed to hear that I've finally won the Nordic Championships in 2.2 Pro!!

Kuva
1.Me 2.Manu 3.Samuli. Really tight fight between Manu the whole day! Kuva

Kuva
Whole results! Kuva

Kuva
Now I have won every comp class in The Nordics! This could not end better! Kuva

On saturday we continued with the Finnish RC Crawling Series Comp number three.

Kuva
There was only a couple of pics from this comp. This is from course two. It was long but fun course to drive. Kuva

Kuva
Rig is working excellent now that I have done the shock cap mod to the SCX10 shocks. Kuva

Kuva
Another victory with a clear marginal to the second! Kuva

Kuva
Just too bad, that there were only so few drivers on the comp. LaaLaa could not make it to this either. Hopefully he'll be on the next comp, since there's only two comps before the big one left. Kuva

Kuva
Always happy about the help from the sponsors! Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... 5jZP1KwhlU
Here is a clip from course five, which went really good alltogether! Kuva

So two more comps and then the Nationals. Those two comps are Finnish National Series Comps both. Slowly getting to the Nationals shape I think. Kuva I need to take a look to my axles next and maybe do some service to them.

Time for the second to last update before the Worlds! Kuva

Kuva
Fourth finnish national series comp behind in Rauma. Plenty of good courses on saturday!

Kuva
Some pics from course two. Tricky gate two.

Kuva
Up from there and straight for the bonus gates!

Kuva
The hardest part of the course. Gate five.

Kuva
I managed to turn it around in small area with just three reverses. Kuva

Kuva
Going to gate six.

Kuva
One more shot from course four.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozkVesC ... GFl4TY7TsQ
Here is course three on video. Lots of new stuff was tested on this course. Included some tricky boundaries for example. It went really well! Kuva

Kuva
And another victory with this awesome rig! I loaned this to my brother and he came third! Kuva It's just awesome, instantly he decided to go for the pro class as well. Kuva

Kuva
The results. Shame that LaaLaa could not make it to this comp either. I'm crossing my fingers, that he would be able to drive againts all of us in the last comp before the Worlds just after four weeks. Hopefully this will happen. Kuva

And couple of words of the axles. These have been working flawless throughout the season. Some of guys have had broblems with the bearings and gears, but I've driven the original ones for all season without problems. And I have given hell to them. Kuva Only issues are the front shafts. But cure is on the way. Kuva

Kiitän!

Now I have returned from the last comp of Finnish National Crawling Series 2014. Before the comp some updates arrived from Oregon and Utah.

Kuva
E.Y. Designs narrowed Voodoos and Dlux CF wheels! Kuva

Kuva
Sweet rims to sweet rig.

Kuva
I wanted to go with someting little wider in front and narrow in rear. Narrow Voodoos to the front axle with 0.87" wheels in it. And ultra narrow Voodoos to the rear with 0.72" wide wheel.

Kuva
Three sets glued! Kuva

Kuva
This is how it looks now! Kuva

Kuva
The difference between these and Skinny Rovers is that, I've got more ground clearance now. And the space between inner sides of the tires is more narrow. Which meant, that my knuckle weights are now hiding in the rim and it wont get stuck so easily from the front axle.

Kuva
Some comparation. I use SLW 225 hubs in the rear and SLW 475 hubs on front. Seems to be the perfect setup at the moment.

Kuva
And now to the competition. Morning started cloudy, but luckily we didn't have any rain in whole day! Kuva

Kuva
The next pics are filmed by Mika. Big thanks to him! KuvaKuva

Kuva
These are from course one.

Kuva
Here is course two with the repeat bonus option. Kuva

Kuva
Making those Stubbies sing! Kuva

Kuva
Took all nine bonuses. But after clearing gate nine, the battery went empty. Luckily I got time to change it on course.

Kuva
Here is a pic from the difficult course three.

Kuva
And this is from the last course. It was a really tricky gate. Slippery as ice, and I just had to make it with full throttle.

Kuva
Ouch!! Kuva

Kuva
Gotta say, that those Voodoos gripped really well! Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvJgPyG ... GFl4TY7TsQ
Here is my performance from course one. Perfect score! Kuva

Kuva
And here are the results. Quite pleased with those of course.

Kuva
Fourth victory in our five comp series. LaaLaa took the one, that was my worst. Kuva

Kuva
Despite that, I was crowned a Finnish Champion second year a row! Kuva

Kuva
Good way to end this Finnish Series and move on to the Worlds.

Kuva
Here are the overall results.

Kuva
Rig has worked like a dream, and to be honest it got even better with the Voodoos.

Last year in the Nationals I managed only to drive to 30th position, but this year my only goal is to reach out for the finals. It's not easy job to do, but the rig will make it, it's just up to the driver now. Kuva

Still waiting for the pics of the competition. In the mean time I can show you my performaces in the video corner! Kuva (I'm just gonna present them at the order I drove them.)

Castle Course - (-47p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... aC1raPqvlo
Saturdays first course. I decided to run first. Quite odd line to gate two and stupid reverse. Others after me drove it from the left side which would have been way better. Little difficulties running the third bonus gate, but after all I made it. Good enough start for the competition! Kuva

Futaba Course - (-30p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... O8FndWFI4Y
This was the course, that I build in the morning. I saw few peoples struggling in there and was quite nervous before my run. Problems started at gate two. My rear suspension wasn't stiff enough to make me go up on that. Every time I tried it just threw me back. I even rolled twice in there. After one and a half minutes of trying I hit the left gate and rode it over. Then there was next problem after gate six. My glasses were full of rain drops and I could not see anything. I had to take them off and drive without them. (Something I have never done before...) Then I drove both bonus gates and was lucky enough to get to the finish line in time. Only one gate as a penalties, so I really can be pleased with that score. Kuva And how annoying was that ship horn, which was loud as hell?! Kuva

DCW Course - (-28p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... SgJjrotCaE
Third course. Already on the first gate I almost hit a gate. Luckily not. This was the course, where I spent way too much time on the roof. I tried the first bonus a couple of times, but it went too close from the gate. Second bonus just kept throwing the rig down from the cliff, and then I just had to go and try the third bonus gate. That went well and I thought I will give one more try to the second bonus. Still without a result though. This course could've gone better. Kuva

Lattice Innovations Course - (-37p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... GqMT7h4iM8
Really nice looking course I thought. And it was pleasure to drive too. Everything went really well until the second bonus gate, where my rear motor was stuck behind the rock. I had to take few reverses to make it clean. On the final gate the first attempt didn't go too well. I had to take quick reverse to save the rig from hitting the gate. Then on the next try I had only 20 second left, so it was now or never. I floored it and thank god, it went straight thru. Thank you Stubby lord, thank you. Kuva

Krawler Konceptz Course - (-40p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... tsugIeeekk
So, I had the good mood on after four courses. Finns and the norwegians hit the course five. Krawler Konceptz course. Which was alarmingly close to the sea. Kuva It really went all as planned except for the ridicilous speed and line for second bonus gate. That could've ended worse. Kuva No mistakes apart from the repo, so I was really happy with this course! Kuva

Notch 8 Course - (-47p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... Xlrxzy1c0Y
The last course for the day. I saved the difficult course as a last course. Only few guys even had finished this course and as I was talking with Manu, Jake and Joel, I knew it would be do or die to get to the finals. So I went for it. Now I really got the sort of driving mood on, that I had in Spain earlier this year. It felt really awesome to drive, when all of the places went straight from the first try. I imagine Manu had this feeling all of the day. Kuva Now that I look it on video I can't help to notice, that I hit a gate on the finishing gate. I didn't see it on the comp and nor did the judge. Luck. Gate or no, the result would still have been similiar from the whole comp.

FINALS!! WOOHOOO! KuvaKuva

Ottsix Finals Course - (-40p)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... kvlTA0JpIo
At first I would like to say congrats for all of the guys how made it to the finals. Now I know, it's not exactly easy job. You have to take so much risks and practicly try all of the bonuses to get there. I was so thrilled to be part of the top 5! Kuva Not so reliefing was to watch Del Monte's -80 point score. That man killed the course, even before I had any meters on it. If I wanted to keep my position, I would have to drive at least -73 points. So I thought lets go for it. First six gates went well and I don't know how I was able to run the gate five so fast. I tried it after the comp and could not get there in that line even after two batteries...? Kuva So all of my symphaties are on you Joel. Kuva On gate seven I hit a gate, which was really dumb one. Just realiasing the dig and it went straight on it. I tried to climb gate eight and after that the bonus, but the rig rolled over just as I was through gate eight. Then with my luck I reversed straight on the gate. Less than two minutes to go and I went for gate nine. That turned out to be a real pain in the ass. You'de have to get exactly right line to grab the dig on top. I made it after several tries and then went for gate ten to just finish the damn thing. Kuva I was quite pissed of the fact, that I was about to loose a position in the finals. That had never happen before. And with a little help from SkalDidog, it didn't happen here either. Kuva

I will tell little bit more of the comp, when I got some photo footage of the rig. Before I quit though, I want to thank un-bolt for spotting me all day long! Thanks dude! Kuva
