Hienosti näytti etenevän ja lookki on kohillaan! Odotettavissa mielenkiintoinen ensvklopun kisa ja koko kausi!
Hienoa, että joku jaksaa ja kykenee kehittämään maailmantahtiin laitteita 8)

Todellakin. Ensi viikonlopun kisa tulee olemaan kyllä tosi mielenkiintoinen. Ajotyyli tuolla autolla on aivan erilainen mitä normaalilla shaftyllä. Katotaan miten käy.

Huikeita kuvia! Upea "fairy tail" tunnelma ;)
[/quote]
Kyllä. Kameran kanssa opettelua vielä, mutta tarkoitus olisi räpsiä enemmänkin tulevana kesänä kuvia. ;)
Today I had time to finish body modifications and start preparing this to it's debut comp.

Had to cut the vertical bit from the nose off, so it'll clear servo and battery.

Had to carve a little corner to the hood. Now the body is fully compressed.

Next and the biggest issue. That's all that my rear end does when you are pushing it down. Vital thing to reach the 12,5" wb in steep climbs. Upper link mount is really high and I can't move the body upper than that. Hmmm...

There is the trouble maker.

Cut off the Krawler Konceptz logo?

I wanna see Michelle's face right now.

Well?

We have a toilet cover right there!

Little room for shocks to do their work as well.

You see now?

Toilet lid needs a limiter, so it won't cut off too easily, when trying to get the rig up from a roll over.

Am I genius or what?!

After I finished with the body I continued by thread locking the rear axle screws.

Next week I'll have to do the same treat for the front axle.

I had messed with the 40wt shock oil the whole day, so I changed the oils to this rig as well.

The lexan motor cover wasn't flexible enough so I found a BWD motor cover to do the job instead.

Allthough there is already a giant crack in this as well. Gotta contact winner to order a Custom Fiber cover.

Little more cutting under RC4WD logo and I was done for the day. I think the body is ready for the comp. Rest of the rig still needs finishing touches.

Varmastihan se tuo oman haasteensa siihen. Koitetaan nyt alkuun kuitenkin pitää vehkeet kumeilla. :D

Onko tuosta korkeasta korista (ohjaamosta) enemmän hyötyä kaadon jälkeen renkaille saamisessa....kuin painopisteen noususta haittaa?

Rutkasti. Ainakin näin väittäisin. Tuon painoisessa autossa ei myöskään niin paljoa tunnu korin ohjaamon korkea painopiste. ;)
Still finishing touches to do before the comp.

I went the whole front axle thru and put locktite to srews.

A little rear shock limiting.

Not much, but enough to make a huge difference.

Everything clears with flying colours!

Set also my wb and start on gluing the titanium link sliders.

All glued.

I put a little amount of grease to make the front bevels to run smoother. We'll see how well that went.
Just saw, that my tires are in finnish customs and with a good luck they'll be here on thursday.
Tomorrow, I'll get on with the deans soldering on the batteries.

Eikä se korin nosto haittaa paljon kevyemmässä autossakaan. Painoikohan toi kori jonkun 30-40 grammaa? Sen muistan että oli huomattavan kevyt esim.

Today I finished the rig for it's debut comp!

Tightent screws and checked that everything is working. Too bad the tires didn't make it to this comp. I'll have to change the tires between this and the pro.

RTR weight for the comp. Got my aluscrews today, but I'll put them on to the next comp then.

All set. My goal is to have at least one good course and keep the thing alive whole comp. New rig, you'll never know what'll brake down.

Bunker Indoor comp with a record participation!
I do hope everything will go as planned tomorrow. I'll update on sunday with pics and video.

Re: #6 Kai-modosu
Debut comp behind in the Bunker!

Bunker offers the only possibility to drive indoors in whole Finland.

Starting the comp.

First course was a real disaster for me. Got to gate seven and then runned out of points. Voodoo's weren't gripping enough on that concrete floor.

The course was pretty tough as well.

Best points were +19 and I got +26, so no serious harm done there.

Relly making the way tough with my line descisions.

Course two on the way!

I was the last one to drive it. Nobody had finished it before me.

Trying to think a different approach to the next gate.

Sliding it down to bonus.

Progress!!

Then next gates were relatively easy.

Suspension in this thing seems to be spot on!

And the new Nexus motor is giving me plenty enough wheelspeed to jump over places like this.

Going for the last three gates.

Eventually I made this course to the end!

Here is course number three. This course went really well except for one bonus marker.
Here you can see some of the advantages of this rig. Breakovers were childs play to it.

After four courses of competing Kai-modosu was crowned to first spot of the day!

Felt damn good to take that trophy home. Few months of intense building has come to it's end. Now I can start practicing!
Too bad I won't be able to take it to the Worlds on september, but it'll be a heck of a pain in the ass in Europe for sure!

Tuolla kivikossa taitaa parhaiten tulla auton hyödyt esiin. On aika kaivaa sotakirveet esiin, kausi on alkamassa! ::)
Good training weekend behind!

Got all of my rigs in the testing line!

Shafty was epic outdoors! Even better than I thought it will be.
So easy to drive, extremely predictable and stable.

After two days and ten batteries, nothing, I repeat nothing came loose or broke.
Rig seems to be pretty well dialed in. I can now be pround of my work so far.
Tests will continue on few more weeks. After that, we are really starting to compete.

A little updating continues...

It's diet time!

I already had al screws on the chassis, but I wanted to put them everywhere possible. Still not confident enough to replace some screws which are constantly under a lot off stress.

At least the color is now right!

Not much of a saving, but saving it is.

5g off from previous setup.
The weather wasn't good enough to have training this weekend, but I'll try to get it out next weekend.

To get the right feeling in terms of driving this truck I've done lot's of training recently.

Can't belive that I'm out training in March with a T-shirt..

That has to mean cold summer.

After some 20'ish batteries the only thing that broke was one rod end. That's quality stuff right there!

Some closer looks of the skins in sunshine.

#motto

Who will recodnize the rigs in his eyes?

Another training day on a different spot.

Oh, almost forgot. One aluminium screw got a new bending.

And yes it's easy to drive this thing on it's wheels cause of the Xcitier body and BROOD NEXUS POWA!!
Only the drag link for steering is on todo list for now. So it's looking good for next weekends comp.
Maybe some more training before it?

Next comp is behind the corner!

Last screw tightening and repairing done.

It's ready for the first comp outdoors of it's career.
Should be a good one. I have enjoyed to drive this thing outdoors already.

With more than ten rigs on the line, it's not gonna be easy to continue from the indoor comp result. But I'll do my best. Just hoping for a good sunny day!

Re: #6 Kai-modosu
Anyways, the first outdoor comp is now driven with this rig.

Total of fourteen shafty rigs were registered to go.
And this was "only" a team event.

My shafty was ready and eager for the challenges that lied ahead.

In the morning it was still raining, but it stopped during the comp and we got to drive on dry rocks.

Ready to go on the final course.

Really happy about the overall performance of this thing.

Result of the day was only 12 reverses in total. And I managed to drive all of the bonuses. This thing sure is a performer!

This was a really slippery rock, but no problem for Kai-modosu!

Another bonus.

And another. First I tried this from the top.

Gate eight - progress.

Next approach to the bonus from down.

After one reverse, I managed to clear it.

Extremely happy about the day.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... JxF0yUtCTI
Here is course number three on video. I was the only one to clear all the bonuses in this one.
That thing just goes like a thought.

These surely are objective performances. I hope I can continue on training and keeping this level of driving onwards.
Next comp will be after two and a half weeks. Until that, I should go and do some training.

Re: #6 Kai-modosu
A little update before the next comp.

Piece of carbon fiber from Custom Fiber!

Old delrin motor saver straight into trash can.

Stunning work with this Troy! Thanks!

Kai-modosu is ready for another comp. It's gonna be huge attendance again.

We'll have this comp in a new comp ground. Should be cool place to crawl.
I'm more than ready for it. Bring it on!

Onnittelut voitosta, hienosti ajettu, vaikkakin tiukkaa kisaa! Kenties tämä on hairahdus, kenties jatkossakin tiukkaa kisaa?
Pääasia: tätä oli viihdyttävä seurata! 8)

Kiitokset!
Third comp with this rig is done. Opponents are getting closer comp by comp.

In the first course I hit a bonus gate by coming with wrong line into it.

These photos are from the second course.

Bonusbonusbonus!

Easy gates this time.

Then I came to gate five. A real pain in the ass.

I felt like I needed more weight to the front. There was just no line for me this time...

So I rode it over and continued to make it to the finish.

Sixth gate was in steep downhill sideways. Many guys took a gate in here.

And I was the only one to clear this bonus gate.

And one final easy bonus!

Off to the finishing gate.

Made it to finish with second best score.

Third course was easy and I got full -50 point score from there. As we headed out to this final course, I was two points behind the leader. After all I managed to keep my head cool and took the victory with that two points.

Babyface ftw!

Tight comp this. Makes me wonder what the future brings. Only two comps before the Nordics in Norway.
Training, training, training, training, training....
....ning.
