My plan was to keep my last pair of the stainless spools for a project, but hey what don't you do for your team drivers Kuva Kuva

Exceed 1/16 ring gears on the DravTech stainless spools for both the front and rear.

For the front there is a Exceed 1/16 pinion gear on a modified Losi pinion shaft. I have grinded down the flange on the shaft. The Exceed shaft is a little bit bigger than the Losi one so I added a drop of Loctite 648 so it will not have any play.

For the rear there will be a modified Axial gear giving it some underdrive.

Kuva

The transmission contain the HR aluminum gears. To avoid that the output shafts beats up the pocket in the aluminum gear I have added some Loctite 648 so now those shafts are going nowhere.

Kuva

The transmission housing also got one of the DravTech CF motor plate prototypes. The function is good, but I am not happy how it lines up with the housing yet. I have to send Samu a proper one when I have them ready Kuva

Kuva

As I hate M2 thread in plastic I had to mount some aluminum inserts in the bottom holes of the transmission housing.

Kuva

Transmission mounted on the SuDuZero skid.

Kuva

Kuva

Just a skid is boring so lets add a chassis around it Kuva

Kuva

Kuva

Then I had time to assemble the knuckles.

Kuva

Then time ran out for today, but this is up next Kuva

Finished up the upper and lower links

Kuva

Then it was time to mount the motor which is then now discontinued Xtreme 380X motor. I also used a DravTech mini motor CF spacer.

Kuva

The pinion is 14T and the spur is 60T. That combo with 2S works great on this motor, imho.

Kuva

Nice and tight between the pinion and the chassis Kuva

Kuva

Then it was time to focus on the electronics. The esc will be a Tekin B1R and then a Sanwa RX371 receiver.

Kuva

After removing a bunch of "crap" from them I mounted them in the chassis. On my own mini I have them on top and behind the servo, but I like this placement more so I will rearrange my electronics like this.

Kuva

Kuva

Kuva

The battery connector will be a normal JST one. After taking the picture I forgot that I have to add some cables from the battery to power the servo... so I need to redo the connector.

I also wasn't totally happy how the rx placement turned out but I couldn't set my finger on why... today I figured it out... It needed angled pins of course!

ahhh... much better Kuva

I also skipped soldering back the pins that aint needed. Saved perhaps 0.1 gram or so.. Kuva

Kuva

Lot less stuff hanging down this way

Kuva

Capacitor in place

Kuva

New JST connector and the servo bypass adapter in place ready for the front axle.

Kuva

Then it was time to shorten some shocks. Axial Aluminum SCX10 shocks with machined pistons, mini-T springs and RC Bros spring cups.

Kuva

Except skins (which are on it's way) the chassis is now finished. Time to move on to the axles next time.

Made some brass weights for the holes in the knuckles so Samu can use the maximum weight of the knuckles if he wants.

Kuva

Heavy little knuckles...

With the knuckles done and the driveshafts cut and grinded the front axle was done.

Kuva

The it was time to glue the tires to the wheels. 4.25" Voodoo's and a combination of 1.9" Rover foams as inners and CI 4.25" Lill'Nova outer foams as outers (soft front, medium rear).

Time to put stuff together!

Updated the first message. Kuva

First of all a BIG THANKS to Tobias for building me this rig. It has been fun trip to follow all the updates and quality photos you have put here. Kuva It so much easier to build a rig without actually doing anything! Kuva

Fantastic work. If it drives as well as yours in the Nordics, I sure am happy guy! Kuva Can't wait to run few batteries with it in Spain. For the comp my motivation is to fight for the big one. With this rig it sure is in the reach. I just have to get "the feeling" for it. Kuva

See you soon guys! I'll leave tonight to the warm beach of Almuñécar! Kuva

First comp behind with this rig! Kuva

Kuva
I got the rig on thursday night. Last day before the competition. After "few" mojitos in the beach bar I went to get it from Tobias. Really cool rig!! Kuva Quickly did the setup for MT-4 and head for the rocks at 2AM in the night just to find out that the french and italian guys are there doing some training with headlights! Kuva Got some serious spotting from Cirederf to get my lines correctly. Kuva This training session will be remembered for a long time. KuvaKuva

Kuva
Few hours after that we got up and made the courses for 1.9. What a weather! Kuva

Kuva
So, to this point I had one battery of training. Oh well, that should be enough. Kuva

Kuva
I have to admit, it looks so darn cool! Kuva

Kuva
Checking out the lines with my nr. 1 rival of the day, David. Kuva

Kuva
First course on the way!

Kuva
Had to take a tactical reverse. Bummer... Kuva

Kuva
Little bit more challenging course two here.

Kuva
Rig was working just like the one I loaned from Tobias in the Nordics, if not even better. Kuva

Kuva
So easy and predictable to drive. Kuva

Kuva
First reverse to this bonus didn't go as planned. You'll see that from video soon. Kuva

Kuva
Drove eleven of twelve bonuses of this day.

Kuva
This brand new rig really was shining under Spanish sky. Kuva

Kuva
Another tactical reverse to clear gate ten.

Kuva
Course four looked really tricky before we got to drive it.

Kuva
Rig was working even better on some spots that I had imagined. I could switch the line as I drove and the confidence to the rig was rising gate by gate. Kuva

Kuva
This was definately one of the coolest gates of the comp.

Kuva
No problem for SuDu Zero.

Kuva
Rig felt suprisingly stable on downhill as well.

Kuva
I just have to give props for David, who cleared this bonus without any problems. Really nicely done buddy!! Kuva

Kuva
The most challenging course of the day. Team Ottsix course 5.

Kuva
Managed to drive without mistakes right until the last bonus.

Kuva
Spring setup seemed to be spot on for this comp.

Kuva
Here is the hard bonus. It was steeper than it looks to be.

Kuva
All of this wouldn't be possible without DravTech! Thanks Tobias again! Kuva

Kuva
On the way to last course.

Kuva
Till this point I was already quite confident about the performance. Kuva

Kuva
Nothing would stop Vätte being number one! Kuva

Kuva
Going for the fierce downhill bonus.

Kuva
Here you can see. It doesn't lift the rear even at this angle. Kuva

Time for.....

...video corner!! Kuva

Krawler Konceptz Course - (-38/-40)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_lKgBZYbEw

I had no bigger problems on this course. Tactical reverse to gate six. I bet it would not have been do able to turn with that grip. Stupid reverse on the second bonus though. Always little things to improve. Kuva

Fanatic RC Course - (-29/-40)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rfr0xPqEzt0

For me this was the worst course of the day. One really stupid reverse before gate ten and one none driven bonus. I didn't go for it after seeing what happened to David. It looked too tricky to gain any points.

Holmes Hobbies Course - (-37/-40)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un5mSCOjh0Y

In this course I made a small mistake by reversing too far at the approach to bonus. That's why I made one extra reverse. Could have ended up lot worse though. Kuva Another tactical reverse to gate ten and it's another progress!! Kuva

Crawler-Keller Course (-40/-40)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4s-z1CeJoM

Un-Bolt from Norway did this course. For me honestly it looked really tricky before I went for it. Tricky, but do able. Kuva Everything went as planned and I was able to make perfect run from here. I was stunned how well the little one could climb these steep cliffs.

Team Ottsix Course (-36/-40)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtNMhtp8CXs

This course was easily the hardest of the day. Lot's of steep sidehill gates and some, which I wasn't too sure about. The second bonus was a real killer though. David drove it before me and made it look easy. I went for it and wasn't sure if it's drive able even after few reverses. Luckily though the grip was found and I cleared it after four reverses. Kuva

RcBros Course (-38/-40)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MB1fKG2J3oQ

This was the course, that I made first in the morning with just headlight as my company. Turned out to be suprisingly hard. Kuva It took me two reverses to clear it and I was one happy guy after gate ten. I love this rig!! KuvaKuvaKuva

Kuva
Counting points at the beach restaurant. Kuva

Kuva
Victory with 25 point difference to David. That was one tight comp! Kuva

Kuva
Congrats to David for the second spot and our team chief Tobias for making it 3/3 to SuDu Zero!! Kuva

Kuva
Here are the results.

Kuva
Feels good to be back on top in 1.9 class! Kuva

Kuva
I have absolytely ZERO complains of the performance! Kuva

Kuva
And I really did have good time in Spain! Kuva

Kuva
A big thanks goes to all the sponsors, who stepped up for supporting the very first EuroCrawl. Hats off. Kuva

Kuva
Big thanks to everyone that helped me during the weekend. It really means everything to me. Kuva Allthough this was only the first comp of this rig's career it's time to thank my sponsors:

A long time since last message, but it has been a long brake since the last comp too. We opened the 2016 season in east in Lappeenranta, which was the first event of Finnish RC Crawling Series.

Kuva
Beautiful weather and dry rocks kept the drivers entertained for the whole day.

Kuva
Unfortunately we only had three drivers and one of them wasn't even able to start the comp. So it was me and Sofi who fought our way on one single course. Kuva

Kuva
I was able to clear the course with seven reverses, but Sofi had to do few more and a roll over.

Kuva
All in all, good practise even though only one course. Kuva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVPGNXS1RhI
Here is my performance from the only course we ran. The zero training is easily spotted on those reverses. Have to drive more.

Kuva
And here are the results. Kuva

I'll continue updating this thread next with The Nordics 2016! Kuva

Next it was time to prepare for the 2016 Nordics. Kuva

Kuva
Checked the screws and everything seemed to be in order.

Kuva
The whole weekend in Sweden offered fantastic weather. Sunny +30 degrees every single day! Kuva

Unfortunately I have zero pics from the comp itself, but fortunately we have video corner! Kuva

Krawler Konceptz Course - (-10/-20)
https://youtu.be/6uGPGXfEZWU
This was the first course and already on the second gate I hit a marker. It was incredibly slippery down there at some points, but still it was unnecassary gate to hit. Rest of the course went as it should and I was still able to score the best points of this one! Kuva

Dlux Fab Course - (-18/-20)
https://youtu.be/LVp3pT9_GGQ
This was already better course for me. Only one stupid reverse due stupid approach. I'm stunned how well this rig deliveres time after another. Kuva

DravTech Course - (-20/-20)
https://youtu.be/b47kfmWNjBg
This course was the easiest of the day. Couple of harder gates here and there, but nothing that this little rig couldn't handle. Perfect score! Kuva

RcBros Course - (-20/-20)
https://youtu.be/-QcWfhvmO40
This course had many tricky gates, but I think that at last here, my driving came perfectly together. Perfect score and nothing to worry about. Pretty happy about this one too! Kuva

Kuva
Three comps - three victories!

Kuva
Good to have DravTech represented well on the podium again! Kuva

Kuva
Not ultimate victory, but still. Only two "mistakes" on the comp that I could've done other way, so I'm pretty happy.

Kuva
Really cool trophy to be added on the shelf!  8)

Next comp will be held on 23rd ofthis month in Jämsä and it'll be the second round of Finnish Series for the mini class. Kuva
